Tittel Del Mar
Tittel Del Mar was born and raised on the island of Curaçao in 1990. Even though she is the only daughter of a sales manager and a finance woman, she has always been creatively inclined.
Tittel studied at Instituto Buena Bista and later got admitted to Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam (the Netherlands), where she initiated the study of graphic design. After working in the commercial industry for almost a decade, doing social media, photography, and graphic design, and struggling to find time for her own body of work, in 2021 Tittel took the big step in refocussing her career and chose to stop working full-time for clients and to start investing time in her portfolio.
Known locally for her #realtalktittel and #kusjepabo (a kiss for you), both mental health awareness projects on social media, Tittel loves to write. Her main drive is to combine illustration, video/ photography, with stories and poetry to show you the simple, yet unique beauty that she sees in the mundane. Her work continuously explores identity, race, culture, and all the connecting tissue entwining what is the abundantly mixed culture within Curaçao and the Dutch Kingdom.
