Minori's music possesses a deep power & soul, her fusion of Reggae, Hip Hop, RNB and Dancehall, hits you to the core and plants a message of trial and triumph in your innermost parts. With a Japanese name that translates to "Beautiful Stream", an apt name for a singer tuned in a beautiful stream of consciousness that comes through her lyrics, sounds and vibrations.
MINORI brings a dynamic live show, her high energy, strong & uplifting presence, is balanced with an intimate soulful experience. A finalist the popular Magnum Kings and Queens of Dancehall the Jamaican D- Hop creative has been steady making strides graduating from the M.I.R ( Master's in Residence ) Program at the University of Technology in 2018 and has been steadily honing her craft as a performer, writer and recording artist. Minori was recently featured in the Fiwi Jamaica musical( "Forbidden Fruit ), a project which she Co-wrote and wrote several of the tracks for and was also featured as one of the main characters. Minori dubbed “mini from the block” has worked with the likes of Syl Gordon ,known for his work with International artist Shabba Ranks and has worked closely with the legendary Mikie Bennet.
Her recent Collaboration for single & Video RED PILL, saw her working with the creative team of renowned International/Australian Artist, Nattali Rize, and she is set to release her first single and video titled Red Pill, in 2020.
Minori is also one of the main writer’s for the Appleton Estate's Heart of Jamaica Album released in, 2019 where she is also a featured performer with a track featuring several prominent female artist called Phenomenal Woman. The Jamaican beauty in March 2019 released her single from the All female compilation Album Big Woman Tings a project by G.U.R.L.E.S Ltd and has been raking up quite the response and support both locally and internationally with her single "Pretty Girl" a track she refers to as medicine. Music is art and art is life” she frequently quoted saying and this is apparent in her lyrics and all the projects she is involved in.
One such is the Voices for Climate Change Education where she has not only dedicated her time but her voice and face as being one of the few Jamaican entertainers championing the Edutainment of Climate change, Climate adaptation and Climate resilience.
Despite the blow to the entertainment and performance industry she continues to make strides and in 2021 embarked on her first tour of the United States with Reggae sensation Nattali Rize and Rizenation and has been steadily racking up tones of support from the exposure she has gained.
In June,2021 Minori was featured on the track Fire Burning By Nattali Rize on the Victory Rock Riddim produced by Kabaka Pyramid under his production company Bebble Rock Music and on January 7,2022 released the featured video with Ms Nattali Rize for their single Fire Burning. The track has been doing well and has garnered over sixteen thousand views on YOUTUBE in the short time it was released.
MINORI, born Minori Izumi Russell to parents Dawn Marie Hall and Samuel Russell ( both deceased) has an undying passion for the recording and performing arts and has been steadily creating a lane for herself with a plethora of accomplishments.
