Michaella Garrick

Michaella Garrick was born in Mandeville, Manchester, Jamaica in the year 2000 and she currently resides in Hayes, Clarendon, Jamaica. She is a final year student at the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts where she is currently pursuing the Bachelors of Fine Arts-Painting. Michaella Garrick uses paint and collaging techniques as a means to highlight the black female’s traumatic experience that is not often disclosed and bring awareness on the effect and causes of trauma in black women. She is also familiar with the weaving and ink techniques such as stippling and cross-hatching. Her first exhibition was at Denbigh High School in 2017.
