Kevanté Cash
The Bahamas
Kevanté AC Cash (b. 1996) is a Bahamian literary artist who sometimes experiments with film. Their practice explores emotional landscapes living with mental illness, the ‘triviality’ of nostalgia, and the burden of bearing a queer identity navigating life in an Afro-Caribbean society.
Currently, they are working on translating an academic project into a photographic and poetic exhibition, that will explore the impacts of colourism on LGBTQ+ Black Bahamian millennials, and an e-chapbook set to be released in late 2022/early 2023.
kevanté holds a BA in Media Journalism from the University of The Bahamas, MA in Creative Writing from Manchester Metropolitan University, and has been published across the Caribbean, US and UK.
