Irvin Aguilar is a visual artist and graphic designer currently based in Aruba. In Aguilar’s artistic practice, elements of traditional printmaking methods are used in deconstructive way to reveal the process in its different forms such as the matrix as 3D form, expanded drawing, installations, performance, video art and print. A retrospective of his process of adapting a new workplace / home between Mexico-Aruba and their connection.
His work has been exhibited in various cities of Mexico, among which are Oaxaca, Guanajuato, Mexico City, Tlaxcala, Veracruz, Puebla, Michoacan and countries around the world such as Spain and Aruba where he has made many collective exhibitions and solo shows:
SINAPSIS Mural Dedika na Rancho/Printmaking Exhibition at Centro di Actividad Rancho in Oranjestad, Aruba 2017 and GUARD THE FACE Printmaking Exhibition Artfama Studio & Project Space in Oranjestad, Aruba 2016-2017 as well as develop Mural Paintings in different public spaces in Oranjestad, 2 in the neighborhood Rancho in collaboration with Stichting Rancho as well Artfama Studio & Project Space and one more made during Caribbean Linked V Art Residency at Ateliers 89 in Oranjestad, Aruba.
