Filicia R Roberts

As an artist I have always tried to use my abilities in the musical field to express and to make a positive impact on youths. I am 29 years of age and I have been involved in music from the age of 5 years old. I started participating in church and school choirs as a singer, in my teen years I developed an interest in playing the guitar and used much of that talent in school competitions and in my 20’s I started choir directing and teaching both vocal and guitar at my Alma mater Holy Name Convent Point Fortin; where we participated in various competitions such as the Prime Minister’s Best Village, San fest and Music Festivals attaining 1st and 2nd. I am a songwriter and I have written for various artistes such as the calypsonian Explainer and the Soca Artiste Kerlz and I am also a vocalist that loves to perform and have done background vocals for various calypsonians and soca artistes as well. Now I am pursuing a degree in Psychology with the hopes of combining music and psychology to improve mental health. Music is a blessing to me, and it has been a great support, aiding me financially, Spiritually, Mentally and to help others.
