Dwight-Christopher Allen better known as recording artiste/ singer/ songwriter ‘Tamo J’, was born on the 23rd of May 1992 in London, Luton. He moved to Kingston, Jamaica with his mother three (3) years later. He was not only a bright & creative child, but possessed extraordinary talents.
Raised in church, his musical journey began at a tender six (6) years old, with choir, group and solo performances. Tamo J attended Calabar High School for three (3) years, but completed his studies at Kingsway High School where he was a popular model student.
Tamo J was inspired by Buju Banton, Beenie Man, Ryan Leslie, and Usher Raymond. Tamo J nurtured his gift with practice and self-training, which eventually led to audio engineering. In 2011 he wrote, recorded, and produced his very first song “Forever and Always”.
In November 2013, Tamo J fully produced his first 8 track EP, “Eccentric” in his bedroom. This was well received and set the path for Tamo J. In 2014, Tamo J met & began working with the legendary producer/songwriter Mikey Bennett. This led to several opportunities, and Tamo J has since then worked on Rainforest Seafoods, Walker’s Wood Seasoning, Lasco, Red Stripe, Puma, and Grace Kennedy.
