"Deon Simone" - Jamaica

Those who love abstract and figurative art would be great admirers of the works of Deon Simone. She enjoys experimenting with lines, shapes and colours to give her work a rich physical presence.
Deon came into the world in the year of 1995 in Duncans, Jamaica. She's the daughter of a seamstress who taught herself how to draw and paint. Deon felt inspired by reading her mother’s design books with beautiful illustrations.
For her education, Deon studied at the University of Technology in Jamaica from 2012 to 2016, where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. While at university, she continued to practice her art and frequently participated in poster competitions. During this same period, she was awarded a 3 month scholarship to attend the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts and also obtained a Professional Certificate in Digital Graphic Design from the Media Technology Institute.
Inevitably, Deon launched her career as a professional artist in 2015, and this started with oil paintings on canvas where she developed and displayed her penchant for abstract depictions of the human anatomy.
Since she launched her art career, she has exhibited and auctioned her paintings across Jamaica and has worked with many organizations to create vibrant murals in Jamaica.
Deon Simone is a versatile artist whose works include illustrations, digital art and paintings. Her main medium to date is acrylic and oil paint on canvas.
