Candido Bienvenido

Candido Bienvenido is a photographer, filmmaker and visual artist from the Dominican Republic. He graduated from the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo where he received a bachelor's degree in Film and Audiovisual Communications. Since childhood he dabbled and demonstrated an affinity for the arts, developing a passion for drawing and painting at an early age; Some of his early works have been displayed at the Altos de Chavon Art Gallery.
His desire to express himself and portray the world around him led him into expanding to other artistic disciplines; filmmaking and photography being the peak of his interest. His films have been showcased at various international film festivals and art galleries.
His body of work can be described as experimental and surrealist, blurring the lines between reality and fiction; which has developed into his own artistic trademark and style. His main focus is related to themes of dreams, memory, identity, childhood and imagination.
