Owen Ellis
Owen Blakka Ellis is an experienced educator and creative artist whose skills and experiences span multiple fields including teaching and lecturing, designing and facilitating workshops, script writing, poetry, comedy, storytelling and theatrical performance.
He studied Drama-in-Education and Theatre Arts at Edna Manley College and Social Work at UWI and holds a master’s degree in Environmental Studies from York University in Canada where the focus of his scholarly work was on the intersection of culture, gender and the environment.
A passionate advocate for gender justice and family values, he is a member of CariMAN [the Caribbean Male Action Network] and a consulting associate with Parenting Partners Caribbean. His commitment to community development includes serving as a member of Rotary Club of Kingston East & Port Royal, Chairman of the Board of Directors for Trench Town Primary School, and President of the Optimist Club of Trench Town.
