I decontextualize a moment and re-member it the next.
That is, I see identity as subsumed into daily moments of living. I believe it is important to extricate the self from these moments, to re-member the pieces of who you are as captured in these spaces – and then, to remember the whole of who you intend to be. I am a Trinidadian writer who recently completed my MA in Literatures in English from UWI and believes that there are tiers of untold histories within quotidian life, waiting to be explored. I see these as mirrored reflections of the balance that exists but not always articulated. When not writing, I teach Literature and celebrate life, with my daughters by showing them how to discover beauty and art in unusual places.
