Tajha Winkle

I am 22 years old and currently based in Jamaica. I've been freelance illustrating since 2019, growing and developing my art. In 2021, I graduated from The University of the West Indies with a BFA in animation. It wasn't easy, especially since I was balancing my freelance business, extracurriculars, and volunteering. While volunteering I completed a mural at Holywell in the Gift Centre alongside one of my friends. I also had the privilege of winning a pitch competition for Sesame Street alongside an awesome team, winning an honourable mention for the Joan E. McLaughlin Short Story Competition, being an IFLE artist Laureate, and most recently winning the Brodber/Pollard Prize from the University of the West Indies for creative writing. Now, I Primarily illustrate for children's books while working on exciting art projects and short films.
