Marsha Gomes-Mckie

Trinidad & Tobago

An all-rounded artisan, I love everything creative, from writing to illustrating to designing. I am a published author and illustrator. My line of Children Books can be found under the name Aunty Marsha Children’s Books. I also write Romance under the name Mrs. Marshall and Folklore Fantasy Fiction under my name. Exploring Words is my Non-Fiction project.
In 2021, I launched #FolkforeFridays where I researched and detailed a specific Caribbean Folklore character every week via social media. An important aspect of the presentation was creating appealing visual content along with each story. Many times we portray Caribbean Folklore as villains through our art and that isn’t the legacy I want to leave. Our Folklore is rich and one par with other fictional characters globally, and I am proud to represent them.
