Latoya Wakefield

I am Latoya Wakefield, creative writer, and cultural ambassador. I create cultural and historical- based content and services such as children’s books and Jamaican-themed products and services. I am pretty passionate about preserving, promoting and protecting my culture, country, people and the talent and resources we have in Jamaica and the Caribbean at large. I believe in building bridges not just for myself but for others like me. Hence, I collaborate and promote products and services of Jamaican street vendors, artisans, dressmakers and more. I also love to provide avenues for other women to do what they love and earn a living from it.
Since a girl, I have this deep love for my country and decided that I would never abandon my home. Therefore, I am always doing something cultural-based as we have so much to offer in the Caribbean. My brand is called Irie Mekkings, and we cover so much creativity and culture under this brand.
