Antonia Thomas
Antonia was introduced to the steelpan when she was 12 years at Queens Hall Camp in 2012 which then sparked her interest in the instrument. Upon entering Providence Girls’ Catholic School she then joined the Providence Girls’ Pan Ensemble in 2013 who then collaborated with Queen’s Royal College for the Junior Panorama competition in 2014 in which they were successful in achieving first place under the tutelage of Koreece Graham. She then became a member of the stage sides for Pandemonium Steel Orchestra and Providence Girls’ Pan Ensemble, where through the years 2014- 2017 with these two bands, She has performed in various concerts and events and these experiences also allowed her to meet new people which only contributed to developing her love for music. In 2017 she then became a member of Sadiki Sticks on Steel and later that year she graduated at the form 5 level and was accepted into the University of Trinidad and Tobago Academy for the Performing Arts to do her Bachelor’s Degree in Performing Arts. She is currently a member of Provi Elites and is also a recent graduate of the university mentioned before. She hopes to become a music educator, performer, and composer in the future but to also gain a lot more experience as a young musician and to share that experience with others.
